CNN Freedom Project: Some Nepalis caught in a spiral of debt

For generations, thousands of low-caste families in southeastern Nepal have been trapped in a form of bonded labor known as Harawa-Charawa. Men work on the land of landowners, while women and children take care of cattle. The families are forced to borrow money from their landlords at extremely high interest rates, keeping them trapped in a cycle of debt.
