Donald J. Hall, son of Hallmark's founder, passed away at 96. As CEO, he expanded Hallmark's product lines and emphasized television, helping to launch ventures like "Hallmark Hall of Fame" and the Hallmark Channel. Hall also collaborated with his father to create Kansas City's Crown Center, a $204 million development. Hallmark acquired Crayola, and he promoted products targeting diverse consumer groups. He faced challenges, including the tragic Hyatt Regency collapse in 1981. Hall retired in 2016, leaving behind a family deeply involved in the business.
