Meta recently announced that it will lift the restrictions imposed on former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts before the Republican National Convention. The decision was made to ensure equal opportunities for Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden. Trump’s accounts were reinstated in early 2023 after a two-year ban following the January 6 insurrection. Additional penalties were placed on his accounts, but they have not been enforced. In response to his suspension, Trump launched his own social media site, Truth Social.
