The Chevy Malibu, the brand's last sedan, will end production

The Chevrolet Malibu will end production this year, as General Motors announced. Production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, will cease in November, as the facility prepares to manufacture a new generation of the Chevrolet Bolt EV. With the discontinuation of the Malibu, General Motors’ Chevrolet brand in the United States will only sell trucks, SUVs, and the Corvette sports car. Ford had previously stopped selling sedans, leaving only the Mustang in its lineup. Traditional cars comprise less than 20% of US auto sales. The Malibu has been in production since its reintroduction in 1997.
