Unilever to split off its ice cream unit including Ben & Jerry's

Consumer goods company Unilever has announced plans to separate its ice cream unit, which includes brands such as Ben & Jerry’s and Magnum. The restructuring plan is expected to affect 7,500 jobs and will be completed by the end of 2025. Unilever aims to simplify its operations and become a more focused company with four distinct business divisions: beauty and wellbeing, personal care, home care, and nutrition. The restructuring is anticipated to result in cost savings of approximately 800 million euros ($868.3 million). Following the announcement, Unilever’s shares rose by 4.9%.
