We Took Angelina Jolie to the Opera. She Found ‘a Poetry to It All.'
A Glamorous Evening at the Opera #
The Metropolitan Opera House was filled with an air of enchantment on a gala evening. Attendees, adorned in pearls and tuxedos, mingled with conversations ranging from political gossip to vacation plans in the Maldives.
As the golden elevator door opened, a glamorous figure emerged, captivating everyone present. Heads turned and cellphones appeared as whispers spread: “Is that really her? What is she doing here? She seems taller in person. Look at those tattoos!”
Angelina Jolie had arrived at the Met to watch a performance of Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ in anticipation of her upcoming film, ‘Maria.’ The film features Jolie portraying opera’s defining diva, Maria Callas. Known for her global recognition, Jolie commands attention wherever she goes.
However, her evening at the opera began with a glitch. She encountered an issue with her black, floor-length Yves Saint Laurent dress accompanied by a velvet cape. Despite the challenge, and even though seamstresses were on standby, Jolie continued without assistance.
Upon meeting in the foyer, Jolie expressed some hesitancy about being shadowed, mentioning concerns it might impede her enjoyment of the evening. “I just want to enjoy the evening,” she confessed. “I want to take it all in.”
